She says, “This art school has given me so much over the years. Every weekend, I have a peaceful sanctuary where I can focus on art. I’m so lucky to have that supportive, nurturing environment.

For twelve years, art school has been a constant for me. I remember doing my art school homework when I just started learning art.

I have learned so many valuable lessons from all of my teachers, lessons in patience, diligence, and creativity. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion. Art will always be with me, as well as my appreciation for everyone who made that possible.”

This art school has given me so much over the years. Every weekend, I have a peaceful sanctuary where I can focus on art. I’m so lucky to have that supportive, nurturing environment. For twelve years, art school has been a constant for me. I remember doing my art school homework when I just started learning art. I would sketch something during the week and proudly show my teacher, Chinta and later Camie. They would be so encouraging, and it gave me the confidence to keep sketching every week. When I recently looked back at my old drawing, they definitely were not the masterpieces I remembered, and they definitely were not deserving of the praise my teachers gave me. But when I needed it most, my teachers encouraged me to keep drawing, keep growing. Later on, Mr. He challenged me to have artistic vision. He taught me how to keep an eye on both the details and the big picture. That perspective has helped me not only in art, but in other aspects of life too. I have learned so many valuable lessons from all of my teachers, lessons in patience, diligence, and creativity. The people at this school have given me so much support, from all of my teachers to the administration to Principal Zhao. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion. Art will always be with me, as well as my appreciation for everyone who made that possible. Thank you.
